Normal 0 21 false false false FR X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Guangzhou Badminton Association has generously given over 200 rackets on top of other badminton equipment to support the “1000 rackets for Haiti” project launched last month by Peace for Sport and SOLIBAD200 rackets, over 200 shuttlecocks and badminton shirts and shorts are about to be sent from Guangzhou, China, to Haiti as the first shipment to support the project called “1000 rackets for Haiti”. In a symbolic ceremony in Guangzhou, Mrs Guan Weizhen, President of Guangzhou Badminton Association handed over few rackets and shuttles to SOLIBAD’s founder, Raphaël Sachetat.
“We are very grateful to Guangzhou Badminton Association to have been able to gather the rackets so quickly and so efficiently. This is a time where the children in Haiti really need some ways to forget about the trauma, and these rackets will surely be a bowl of fresh air to their tough everyday life in the camps” said Sachetat, who will be visiting himself Haiti later in the year. “Guangzhou Badminton Association was the first association to offer spontaneously to help out and the rackets are already ready to go. I hope this example of generosity will be followed by many other Associations” he added. “We are glad to be the first ones to help SOLIBAD for this project and we hope that these rackets and equipment can make a difference in children’s lives in Haiti. “We look forward to help SOLIBAD anyway we can in the future” added Mrs Guan. SOLIBAD would like to send its deepest gratitude to Guangzhou badminton Association for this great gesture. |
