Program Start Date: 2010

Date of partnership with SOLIBAD: 2010

Number of children/families impacted since the beginning of the action in 2013: 50 children

Amount invested by Solibad in this program since 2016: 26249€.

The program in details :

Founded in 2010 by a woman Pastor and taken over by her son, Pastor Matthews and his wife Mayar, it welcomes about forty children between the ages of 3 and 17 years old, all attending school.

Until 2019, most of the financial means of the orphanage came from the income of Pastor Matthews, from the income of recycling work that he himself carried out, as well as from donations from individuals (often the couple's relatives and neighbors). Due to administrative burdens, the orphanage has not yet received the license that will allow it to obtain government aid.

SOLIBAD's action therefore consists of helping the orphanage to meet daily needs while waiting for the state license, but also to work on the implementation of projects to create objects and products related to badminton to provide training and access to crafts for some children after leaving the orphanage.

Our Russian ambassador Anastasia Russkikh and many others had the opportunity to go and play and talk with the children of the orphanage. Koo Kien Keat, a two-man player of the Malaysian team and SOLIBAD ambassador, supports this project and personally visited and raised funds for the orphanage in 2010.

SOLIBAD's support will continue until government assistance is obtained.

From 2010 to this day, Solibad has helped the orphanage for the daily life (food, clothes, ...) and to allow schooling.

Unfortunately, in 2019, Pastor Matthews passed away, and the recycling activity was strongly slowed down following his death. Sister Malar, his wife, continues to run the orphanage as best she can, thanks to donations from the community close to their structure. The pandemic in 2020 has not made the task any easier either and Solibad will try to continue financing part of the vital needs as much as possible in the coming months.
