The program in details :
Our new program in 2020 takes us to Rwanda, one of the countries in Africa most affected by an ethnic genocide that has wreaked havoc, with a heavy legacy especially for the younger generations. Since the genocide at the end of the 1990s, the country has seen the birth of many centers for orphans and vulnerable children.
We have therefore chosen to partner with the YOMADO Foundation for an activity entitled "Rays of hope for Orphans and Vulnerable Children of Rwanda" since this year. Solibad has financed a program to the tune of €4,000, which will benefit about a hundred children in great precariousness at the moment, in the regions of Bugeresi, Nyamata, Rilima and Rweru.
The children, from 6 to 17 years old, were met by the volunteers of our partner association, to evaluate their living conditions and their motivations to be part of this aid program, which consists of paying their health insurance - so that they can have access to the country's health care centers - but also to set up a regular badminton activity with professional supervisors. Our objective is to promote sport and activity for these children, but also to share with them the values of sport and to help them acquire various skills that will be useful in their daily lives.
Equipment (T-shirts, rackets, etc.) was also distributed this summer for the beginning of the program.
